In the USA Red Tailed and Ferruginous Buzzards are known as hawks.

The Harris Hawk is not a true Buteo. Its Latin name Parabuteo means 'similar to Buteo' or Buzzard like. For the purposes of this website the Harris has been grouped with other 'Buzzards'
